Hans Steiner, M.D. is Professor Emeritus Active of Psychiatry. Dr. Steiner's predominant interest is the application of Humanistic principles to the practice of Medicine and Psychiatry. He is a founding member of the PEGASUS PHYSICIANS at Stanford, a working group of Stanford physicians who write creatively. The group meets monthly and dscusses writing proposals, poetry, novels and trade books in progress. Members of the group have an extensive publication record. The group is open to practicing physicians who write, including medical students. Dr. Steiner teaches Directed Reading, an individualized Program for exploring topics in Depth (year round); and Mental Health and Elite Athleticism (Winter Quarter).
